4.9-magnitude quake jolts Yecheng in Xinjiang


A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Yecheng county of Kashgar Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at 3:45 a.m. Monday, according to China's national seismological network.

The epicenter, at a depth of 100 km, was located at 35.9 deGREes north latitude and 77.5 deGREes east longitude, the network said.
